Weekend at the Farm!

Friday- Friday started out as a beautiful day. One of the warmest (maybe the warmest) we have seen so far this year… I think it even hit 70! We didn’t really do a lot today (At least I didn’t) but the kids played. And played. And played some more!

Uncle ace and Ezra on the tractor. Ezra wanted to know what he was in charge of.

Eddy was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. Everything went into his mouth. Grass, trash, rocks, dirt, sticks, and at one point even a cow horn. He also found a baby mouse and thankfully didn’t get to put that in his mouth. Needless to say, he kept me busy!

Ezra got to ride his bike, A LOT. He loves riding, and I think the kids loved being outside. They played outside until after nine each night, and they would have kept going if we didn’t call them in. It’s so hard to tell them to come inside when they are having so much fun!

Grandma took the boys to help their cousins feed the pigs. They would love to live on a farm I think. Me, not so much!

Clay and I got to take a ride with Aunt Heather and our niece Reese, in Clay’s grandma’s old Cadillac. They don’t make them like this any more! So comfy and what a long hood! It was pretty fun!

Saturday

Today was the day for branding. I, of course, was in the kitchen cooking. (I prefer to cook over helping with the cows). It was terribly windy, but the kids still got some time to play with the grandparents.

Grandma took the kids down to see the calves.

Eddy really does love his grandma, but the wind was pretty crazy!

The boys are branding (Tara too) and it seems to be going much smoother than last year!

Clay’s best friend Mark came up to help…but mostly to go golfing with Clay and to go gopher hunting. They said he did pretty good for not being a farm boy!

Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to catch gophers and to ride on the tractor. They are still talking about it and can’t wait to go back to the farm. Overall it was a fun weekend, but not long enough and we wish could have stayed longer!

The Big 6

Monday, February 28th, 2011. Ezra turned six. My heart is heavy. He is growing up so fast. He is independent. He is smart. He is pretty cool. He is getting very good at guitar. He can read REALLY WELL. He is starting to understand jokes. He is seriously HANDSOME! I mean, really, really handsome. He loves Michael Jackson and The Beatles. I couldn’t have asked for a better child. He changed my life… and I love my Ezra more than words can express. A book we read when he was a newborn said, “I love you more than the earth, and the moon, and the stars in the sky.” That is truly how deeply I love my Ezra.

We celebrated by having a party at Randy’s X-Treme Tumbling… It was lots of fun! Grandma Diemert, Grandma Kindle, Grandpa Diemert, Pop-Pop Kindle, Aunt Heather, Uncle Colt, and Uncles Zac, Ben and Blaze all got to come…. Along with some of Ezra’s friends. We ran, jumped, laughed and had an all around great time!

Grandpa scratching Isaac’s back… Isaac is kind of spoiled.

Isaac later decided to be upset and miss a picture with his Aunt and Uncle, but it’s a pretty good picture regardless.

Overall it was a fun weekend. Ezra turned 6… He is getting so grown up and it breaks my heart, but we are very lucky to have a child as wonderful as him! We really know how to have a fun birthday party. Oh, we bought Ezra a Michael Jackson’s Greatest Hits CD. It earned me 3 hugs and the title of Best mom Ever. For now…
